Housekeeping Intentions

My goal is to create a routine of bite-sized housekeeping tasks.  Keeping housekeeping to a maximum of 2 hours daily.

Daily:

Morning Basics: (15 minutes)

  • Make Bed
  • Swish & Swipe
  • Load of Laundry In

Kitchen Clean-up: (15 minutes)

  • Empty Dishwasher
  • Load Dishwasher
  • Clear & Clean Kitchen Counters

Quick Tidy:  (60 minutes — (5 mins for each area))

  • Living Room, Dining Room, Mudroom
  • Master Bedroom, Nick’s Room, Nina’s Room
  • Garage, Car, Purse
  • Desk, Drawers, Office

Monday:

  • Day Task:  Mop  (20 minutes)
  • Room:  Mudroom  (5 minutes)
  • Declutter or Organize: (5 minutes)

Tuesday:

  • Day Task:  Tubs & Toilets (20 minutes)
  • Room:  Bathrooms (5 minutes)
  • Declutter or Organize: (5 minutes)

Wednesday:

  • Day Task:  Windows & Glass
  • Room:  Kitchen
  • Declutter or Organize:

Thursday

  • Day Task:  Dust & Polish
  • Room:  Living Room
  • Declutter or Organize:

Friday

  • Day Task: Floors – Vacuum & Sweep
  • Room:  Master Bedroom
  • Declutter or Organize:

Saturday:

  • Day Task:  Scrub Spots on Walls & Cabinets
  • Room:  Kids’ Rooms
  • Declutter or Organize:

Tuesday’s Housekeeping – 1/6/15

MORNING TASKS:

Morning Routine (10 minutes)

  •  Make Bed
  •  Swish & Swipe Bathroom (Quick wipe down of surfaces)
  • Load of Laundry In

Kitchen Clean-up (10 Minutes)

  • Empty Dishwasher (While coffee is brewing)
  • Load Dishwasher
  • Clean & Clear Kitchen Counters (assuming not dirty from night before!)

  • Room Focus — (5 minutes)

EVENING ROUTINE:

  • Check tomorrow’s Calendar & Meal Plan
  • What clothes do you need for tomorrow?  — put them out.
  • What meal ingredients and containers do you need?  — gather them and place in one easy spot.
  • Prep your Getaway — What papers or other items do you need?  Gather them and place them by door where you leave.
    • Car Keys
    • Coat, hat, gloves, shoes
    • Briefcase or Handbag
    • Other?
